Social Media Manager & Content Creator.

Matahari Women Workers' Center is a Greater Boston organization where women of color, immigrant women, and families come together as sisters, workers, and survivors to make improvements in each other and society and work towards justice and human rights. The goal is to end gender-based violence and exploitation.

As Matahari’s Social Media Manager, Stephanie’s role supports the team by engaging with the community through their social media channels and communications outreach. Responsibilities include managing the social content calendar, curating social media content, engaging in social events, as well as contributing to forward-thinking projects that require platform knowledge, a nose for news, good judgement and strong communication skills.

As a member of the Matahari Team, she brings her creative eye and passion for the team mission and the communities they cater to, and hones in on her expertise in purpose-driven community building, content curation and amplification.

Human Experience

Stephanie’s approach to creating content for Matahari’s Women Workers’ Center is to humanize the stories she comes across with everyday. Through the use of her photography, creative eye, and videography she hopes to introduce communities with the voices and faces of the members that make up Matahari.

Stephanie is currently working on two projects within Matahari. The project includes photographing and interviewing members about their stories, their involvement in Matahari & their current fight for stolen wages.

During Matahari’s Our Work Our Worth press conference, Stephanie created a visual for a member who decided to stay anonymous. H’s story was one of many that the Matahari organization saw repeat itself during the pandemic. During the press conference, 7 essential workers across multiple sectors, from domestic work to food industry, launched campaigns to call for the immediate payment of tens of thousands of dollars owed to them.

This is one of those stories.
